Youth Care Services
Laurie Middle School has a full time Youth Care Worker who is here to support the entire school community. The role of Youth Care Workers is to foster success in our youth through providing necessary social-emotional supports and when warranted help connect students and families with outside agencies. We are available to support the day to day needs of our school community.
Some of the supports accessible through Youth Care include:
- Salvation Army Lunch Program
- Access to clothing, personal hygiene products and school supplies
- Kid Sport Referrals
- Community Connections
- EKAAS Groups
- Variety of small groups to support self-esteem and wellbeing of our students
Teresa Buurman's office is room __ and the Breakfast Club will be in room 116. These are spaces where students can connect with YCW, take a break, get a snack, or just spend a few quiet moments regrouping.
