Get Yourself Ready for Universityuniversity.deb3e511338.jpg

The high school student's self-help handbook is available to sign out from the library and the counselling office. Check it out to see what you need to do to attend a Canadian university.

Post-Secondary Support at Lunch

Every Tuesday, there will be post-secondary support at lunch (11:30 am - 12:20 pm) in the Career Centre. Support includes sending transcripts, navigating post-secondary websites, applying to universities/colleges, etc.  If you need this type of help, please attend one of these sessions instead of booking individual appointments with counsellors. Parents are welcome to attend.

Post-Secondary Financial Aid and Entrance Scholarships

Please check on your university/college of choice website and look for 'financial aid' and/or 'scholarships'.  This is an amazing opportunity to apply for funding, but they quite often close in the fall.  Every institution is different so you need to check carefully so you don't miss this opportunity.

Interim Transcripts and online Post-Secondary Institution Selections

If you are in need of an interim transcript to start your University/College application process, please go to the Ministry of Education's transcripts and certificates website at www.studenttranscripts.gov.bc.ca. Please note that you must register for a BC Government account and then follow the prompts and register for the Student Transcript Service. You will then be able to make post-secondary institution selections, view your transcript and assessment results, and send transcripts immediately to post-secondary institutions and other third parties. You will need to know your PEN (personal education number), to complete this process.  Interim and Final Transcripts are available to current Mount Baker students free of charge. (up to 25 to be sent to Post-Secondary Institutions and 1 printed final transcript - mailed to the student's address in the fall after graduation).  These MUST be ordered by the student, the Ministry will not send out transcripts if they have not been ordered.
